Purdue Student Government to host Student Leadership Summit

Purdue Student Life organizations continue to adapt to provide opportunities for students to pursue leadership development experiences. Purdue Student Government has met this challenge with an upcoming leadership summit, which will offer student leaders opportunities to prepare for the upcoming school year and discuss important issues affecting student leadership.

PSG will host its “Strategies, Stories and Successful Student Leadership” summit August 3-7. The virtual conference offers opportunities for students to engage in essential leadership training, participate in educational sessions and learn from Purdue faculty and alumni. Leadership teams from various student organizations are expected to participate to network with their peers and prepare for the upcoming school year.

Training and workshops offered during the summit include:

  • QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training
  • Trans Inclusion Training
  • Safe Zone
  • Sustainable Advocacy
  • Anti-Racism
  • Time Management and Self-Care for Student Leaders

Additional session topics include:

  • Planning Virtual Events
  • Diversity and Inclusion in Recruitment
  • Building Alumni Relations
  • Other topics designed to help prepare student organizations for a successful upcoming year.

The sessions will cover current issues affecting students as well as offer tips for navigating the upcoming year, all consistent with expectations outlined in the Protect Purdue plan.

Purdue Student Government serves as the primary representative organization of the undergraduate student body at Purdue University. PSG acts as a liaison between the Purdue University administration, governmental authorities and the student body to serve the needs of Purdue students and to enhance the student experience at Purdue University.
